PixelPoint POS has the capability of being more than just a restaurant point-of-sale system. One end-user has installed PixelPoint throughout their multi-revenue facility.

J.P. Igloo Ice and Inline Sports Complex has brought the enjoyment of ice skating and hockey to residents of Ellenton, Florida. The domed 115,000 square foot complex is billed as the Gulf Coast's “most state-of-the-art facility” offering two national Hockey League size ice rinks and a USA Hockey inline rink. The facility also includes a fitness center, pro-shop, conference rooms and a full service restaurant, Frostbites Bar & Grill.

In 1999, J.P. Igloo was looking for a point-of-sale software solution that had the ability to be implemented in all revenue centers within the facility.  J.P. Igloo's requirements were:

• Ticket sales at the entrance for public skating, and all other charges associated with the skating school and hockey programs.
• Quick service capability for the Concession.
• Table service for the 180-seat restaurant.
• Membership capabilities for the fitness center..

PixelPoint was chosen for implementation based on its table and quick service capabilities, as well as its “out-of-the-box” membership features. An interface was developed for J.P. Igloo to allow for ticket printing at the entrance, that enabled them to implement PixelPoint throughout the facility.

Upon entering, PixelPoint's features process payment at the entrance for public skating. Upon payment a ticket is printed with the price and a liability disclaimer for the purchaser. The terminal at the entrance is also used for charges associated with the skating and hockey programs.

Fitness members also use the main entrance to sign in. Members access the fitness facility by swiping their membership card at the front desk. PixelPoint's fully integrated membership features were ideal for J.P. Igloo's health club, only the database was required for implementation – as the member card access is an out-of-the box feature. As well, the fitness center desk has its own full station terminal to access information and process any incidental charges members/guests may incur.

PixelPoint's quick service and table service features are used in the food & beverage outlets within the facility. During breaks, when the rinks are being cleaned, the Concession processes approximately 200 transactions in a 15-minute time period. PixelPoint's quick service capability worked well for the high volume snack bar, and its reliability ensures the up time required for this high transaction terminal. The full service restaurant, Frostbites Bar & Grill, has six terminals and utilizes PixelPoint's table service configurations.

J.P. Igloo compiles all information through PixelPoint's BackOffice. The ability to track all transactions and generate reports from each revenue center through one system, has allowed JP Igloo to effectively manage their day-to-day and overall operations.
